Arthur Howarth

Everyone who knew him will be shocked and very sad to hear that Arthur Howarth died on Saturday March 2nd.

He had only very recently been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus, but it was already well-advanced and the end came quickly, if fortunately peacefully.

Many of us have lost a fine companion on the hills and mountains, as well as a committed socialist who did much for the club, and for the Alex McIntyre Memorial Hut where he was booking secretary. At the time he died he was also hut booker for London Red Rope.
