Easter Sunday 20th April 2014: Tring

Jean, Noirin and Claire had a quiet green walk along the Grand Union Canal at Tring to the Bluebell Cafe which was amazingly uncrowded for Easter Day. Then we worked out a slightly different route from the one planned and went round the reservoirs at Startop End which meant a walk without roads and cars except for the last 50 yards back to Tring station. We had lunch by the water, hissed at by a greedy swan. Lots of twitchers with enormous cameras but the breeding birds had hidden themselves in the reeds. A lovely walk, and the rain didn’t appear till we were getting into the train home.
