15th June 2014: Tonbridge and Tudeley Church

The walk on 15 June set off from Tonbridge with the aim of visiting the wonderful church at Tudeley with its stained glass windows by Marc Chagall.

The route lay along the north bank of the river Medway, crossing at Hartlake Bridge and proceeding due south before turning west by fields to the church. A little to the north, the pub at Tudeley Hale is expected to reopen some time in summer 2014. The return to Tonbridge follows the path striking west opposite the pub. Altogether about 7 miles. At the end of the walk there is a pleasant riverside pub just north of the bridge for refreshments.
