22nd June 2014: Marden Park Woods

MardenWe had a lovely sunny day for the walk from Woldingham station going south through Marden Park Woods from where there are fine views over the Marden Valley and rolling chalk downland.
We joined up with the North Downs Way walking west where gaps in the trees revealed lovely views across the Weald slightly marred by the noise from the M25 immediately below. After a lunch break in a field full of wild orchids and other wildflowers we carried on to Godstone vineyards for afternoon tea.
The route back to Woldingham station took us past a convent school and lush corn fields and we just made the half hourly train back after a sprint up the road.
