1st March 2015: North from Tottenham Hale along the river Lea

This was an easy walk from Tottenham Hale station northwards along the River Lea towards Enfield Lock and Waltham Abbey. It was a bright and breezy day with a few early signs of spring in the buds and birdlife. Although industry is visible nearby, it’s a pleasant walk with plenty of greenery, passing a number of reservoirs, though only the banks are visible. After lunch and a drinks stop at The Navigation, a Harvester Inn at Ponders End which was formerly a pumping station, the group decided to finish the walk at Enfield Lock and leave Waltham Abbey for another day.
