22nd March 2015: Chalfont and Latimer to Chesham

Jean led us on this fairly short walk.We began by heading north from Chalfont and Latimer station, which is actually in Little Chalfont. We dropped down into and crossed  the valley of the river Chess to reach Latimer, which is more a “big house” than a village. We then walked cross-country, away from the river, stopping for lunch near Pinner Green.

The final stretch of the walk returned to the river and followed it through Chesham, our immediate destination being a cafe in the high street. Don decided to walk on to Great Missenden, but most of us caught a shiny new Metropolitan Line train back to London, direct but far from non-stop.
